Performances inspired by nature. . . .
Think of the next generation to come:
World population grows exponentially. We will
be 9 billion of human being by 2050. The way we behave today generate,
our ecological impact induces the exhaustion of our natural resources.
In order to all live in harmony preserving the future of our planet
it is of paramount importance that we minimise our ecological impact
onto the environment.
Nature as a source of inspiration:
Take full consideration when starting product
development of its present and future impact. Give priority to the use
of renewable fibres. Overall reduce the energy and raw material consumption.
Sustainable manufacturing: manufacturing locally in France means we
fully control our processes and take extra care in carry out our activity
in a sustainable manner. Our challenge: to develop the most advance
product at the highest level of performance while creating the minimal
ecological foot-print.
Since several years Monnet is committed to sustainable development,
part of it being eco-product development. The company has put
in place a plan to reduce its carbon foot print.
100% of the socks marketed by Monnet are produced in its own factory
in Burgundy. It utilises yarns produced exclusively in Europe,
mostly in Germany, France and Italy.
Monnet positions itself as a « local » producer with a strong
appeal to these consumers willing to focus their purchases on products
fully respectful of the environment. These consumers are prepared to
pay a bit more to deal with companies with strong business ethos.
Monnet sustainable development program
is monitored by Yamana, an NGO specialised in this field. Yamana
has been given authority by the French government and textile federation
to sponsor and control progress by companies involved in the «
Fibre Citoyenne » label. This label recognises companies which
have successfully embarked on a true sustainable development plan.
As part of this plan Monnet launches a range of sport socks
100% technical and 100% respectful of the environment.
