Criterium de la Première Neige

Criterium de la Première Neige

The Critérium de la Première Neige was started in 1955. The competition is an absolute must, the place to be for the world’s best alpine skiers, both men and women. They compete in two different phases and career down that legendary steep slope on the Bellevarde massif in Val d’Isère. Monnet has been an official partner company of the International Ski Federation World Cup Competition in Val d’Isère, aka Critérium de la Première Neige since 2012.

Critérium de la 1ère Neige de Val d’Isère : Milestones

  • 1960 : The first foreign skier ever to win the competition in German Ludwig Leitner en Slalom
  • 1973 : Six members of the French Ski Team are banned from running by the federal authority for inappropriate behavior.
  • 1990 : The year sees the first downhill competition on the Bellevarde slope. That same slope will be selected for the downhill Olympics in 1992.
